“We had lunch here on our day trip to Mdina - it was one of the best lunches we had on Malta:
We ate outside in the "secret garden". I recommend the Maltese platter - olives, tomatoes, tomato
paste, various dips, served with local bread and crackers. We enjoyed a bottle of the house
white - again locall produced - great value and excellent quality. We finished the meal with
homemade ice cream & sorbet - delicious! Service was friendly & efficient and the setting was perfect. “

“Not being of Maltese origin but currently residing in Malta I have discovered this beautifully located
in the heart of the ancient city restaurant not so long ago. I have tasted quite a range of different
cuisines around the globe. As soon as we entered the ambient atmosphere of the vaulted huge 'cave-space'
full of greenery and traditional relics coming from the time of the Knights of Malta, we were warmly
greeted practically from the doorstep by competent and cheerful head-waiter Vladimir who helped us to
choose a place to our liking and handed us menus. The atmosphere was so relaxing that we immediately
forgot about our hectic life outside and dived into the great variety of eye-catchingly presented and
truly delicious courses. Being a vegetarian I was pleasantly surprised by the wide choice of vegetarian
dishes and its originality. I actually picked up few recipe ideas for myself. We were also favourably
impressed by the unusual design of the tastefully chosen crockery which gave us a pampered feeling.
Closer to the end of our meal we were offered dessert which initially we wanted to avoid, but they
looked so tempting that we decided to share portions in between us. However the desserts were so divine
that we ended up ordering a portion each. Big thank you to the chef of this magical place. Since then
Bacchus is on the list of my favourite restaurants.”

“Visited Bacchus for a family meal and was not disappointed! The food was beautifully prepared and the
portions were a good size also. My carpaccio of beef was an excellent starter, followed by a great venison
pie. Other members of my family were equally impressed with their food, in particular my wife who chose
the fillet of beef in a chocolate and merlot sauce as her main course - it was to die for! Local wine was
the ideal accompaniment and the deserts looked fabulous. Total cost for 4 diners including wine and apperitifs
was around Eur150. Situated in the cellars of one of Mdina's old buildings, this is a really good atmospheric
place to push the boat out a litlle! “

“Celebrating our German friends Birthday, on 02/05/2011 we decided to book at Bacchus Restaurant. A place known for
its unique location, magnificent ambiance, good food and service. A reputable Restaurant with over 30 years experience.
Crossing the bridge through the main gate and entering Mdina is like going through a time capsule. Being surrounded by
its pride and beauty, Noble Mdina gives you an overwhelming sensation you will not experience anywhere else.
Then you find Bacchus, a combination of Roman and Medieval surroundings, a standing proof of the true craftsmanship our
ancestors left for us to preserve, protect and enjoy. Why not, what more could you ask for ? ?
The Menu presented was vast and appealing, almost making it hard to choose from so much goodness. We decided to start
with an antipasto of Beef Carpaccio & Octopus in Garlic to share. An explosion of flavors oozing with every bite we take.
Following our starters, our friends ordered the Red Snapper which they really loved and enjoyed and I took the Maitre D's
suggestion and chose the Fillet of Pork wrapped with Parma Ham. A pleasurable feeling of how glorious food should be. Then
comes the Dessert. It is not a Bacchus experience but literally a holiday experience as described to us. Their famous Warm
Crepe filled with apples flambe' with Calvados, and the Symphony of Chocolate are just to die for. I just cant find the words
to describe the feeling.
The evening at Bacchus was just.......perfect. An experience which I wanted to share with you and I recommend to anybody visiting
Malta and off course......Noble Mdina.”
